Consorzio Virgilio together with WISK organized a pastry competition to give the Chefs the opportunity to explore the possibilities of Virgilio Mascarpone – a traditional Lombardy product made the old-fashioned way to bring out its natural creaminess, with constantly white colour throughout the year.
Competition proved the amazing skills of the chefs, who came up with inspiring recipes for the Mascarpone desserts. The Competition was judged by Chef Marco Pedron, chef Alfredo Albergatore and Virgilio team.
The participants were talented, young Pastry Chefs from UAE: chef Keshan Nayomal, chef Jesithra Manamperige, chef Srikanth Madaasu, chef Paul Erikson Taylo, chef Lahiru Akalanka Vidange, chef Hashan Pushpakumara, chef Kamal Beligalage, chef Shefeer Abdulases, chef Tarun Singh Karakoti, chef Anne Christy and chef Jesithra Manamperige.
The winner of the first place, Chef Kamal Beligalage won trip to Italy, to visit Virgilio.
Second place was awarded to Chef Tarun Singh Karakoti.
Chef Srikanth Madaasu won not only the third place from the judges, but also social media competition as the viewers’ favourite.
Award Cocktail Evening at La Spiaggia, Bulgari
The competition concluded with award cocktail evening, with the first place winner receiving the invitation to Italy, home of Virgilio – a symbol of excellence in the production of not only Mascarpone, but also butter and fresh creams, Grana Padano DOP and Parmigiano Reggiano DOP. Virgilio is the only consortium in Italy that brings together both Grana Padano DOP and Parmigiano Reggiano DOP suppliers, thanks to the location on both banks of river Po.
