Family Reserve Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Presented in a dark glass bottle, Family Reserve Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil has a medium intense fruity nose of green olives, with complementary aromas that remind us of green almond, walnut shell, apple, peach and quince mixed with light herbaceous touches.
First Early Royal
Exclusive variety indigenous to the provicence of Jaén recovered by Castillo de Canena. A very well balanced EVOO, delicate and elegant. The Royal variety is the native varietal of the province of Jaén. First Early Royal is the exclusive Olive Oil pressed from the first batch of the Royal olives collected at the beginning of the harvest. It is also the first oil launched in the category of 21st Century Oils (Extra Virgin Oils that have never been produced before due to their singularities), hence its name: Primero (The First).
First Day of Arbequina Harvest
First Day of Arbequina Harvest is a limited edition of the oil collected on the very first day of harvest. Ideal for lovers of intense flavours, this Extra Virgin Olive Oil is an explosion of flavour and freshness. Castillo de Canena celebrates the magic of the first day of harvesting, and as a reward for the efforts throughout the year, a personality from the world of culture, sport or art, interprets for them the beginning of the harvest by creating a unique label.
Arbequina & Sea Plankton
Made with the participation of Ángel León, the prestigious Michelin-starred chef from Cádiz, this unique oil offers an incredible experience, where an intense aroma and explosive taste of the sea is joined by the green and fruity flavour of fresh olive juice. 100% natural and vegan oil, as the plankton is of vegetable and not animal origin, it has an intense bright green colour due to the plankton in suspension. Very fresh and elegant, with a mild bitterness and a balanced spiciness, with the mouthfeel that is very sweet in balance with the salty hints of the sea.
Oak Smoked Arbequino Olive Oil
A unique product in the world is made in a traditional way, where the oak smoke is cold infused in the Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil using a system of artisan production, resulting in a delicate smoke flavour. A 100% natural product, with no added chemicals – only Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the cold smoke of organic oak wood selected by master smokers. Presented in a beautiful turquoise bottle, it evokes aromas of apple and almond, with a warm caramelised, vanilla and toffee touch.
Amontillado Sherry Cask Olive Oil
The result of the passion for two outstanding gastronomic products: Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Sherry wines. Arbequina oil is refined in oak barrels used for production of Amontillado Solera from one of the most renowned wineries in Spain: Lustau. Inside these casks, the freshness of Arbequina Family Reserve acquires the character and complex aromas of the old Amontillado wine, still lingering in the staves inside the cask. The result: the perfect fusion of the sensory notes of Amontillado and Arbequina EVOO, a unique gastronomic experience with the fascinating aromatic profile of Amontillado wine, with hints of toasted nuts, noble woods, ripe fruit and mushrooms.
Arbequina & Harissa
A special and unique spicy product with intense red colour, is noted for its fluidity, balance and freshness. Castillo de Canena created their own, original and surprising recipe for the Harissa sauce, and combined it with their exceptional Arbequina EVOO. The design of the bottle is inspired by the tiles from the Arab world, the pigmentation of the oil and the harissa itself.
Natural Essences & Co.
Castillo de Canena, in which their traditional Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil (99,5 %) is infused with a new world of sensations: essential oils. With 100% natural ingredients, Natural Essences & Co. stands out for its amber glass bottles with a dropper, printed in fluorescent colours. Each bottle contains a blend of best Arbequina variety oils, blended with essential oils from fruits, plants and flowers; ideal for making cocktails and for enhancing the flavour of cheese, food and desserts. The flavours of green olives, artichokes, almonds and fresh herbs of Arbequina EVOO combine harmoniously with the natural aromas of fruits, plants and flowers.

Creation of a high-end EVOO
We are siblings Rosa and Francisco Vañó and in 2003, being at the time senior managers of multinational companies such as Coca-Cola and Banco de Santander, we decided to change our professional directions and fully embark on the project of transforming the family business of olive grove production and olive oil manufacturing, marketed as bulk oil, into a new Castillo de Canena: a modern company focused on the creation of a high-end EVOO brand with a high spirit of innovation.
