WISK opens on the emerging market of Oman. An exciting step and a response to the growing demand for fine foods in the region.

2012

Donald Russell: Award-Winning Food Direct to your Door

Having held the Royal Warrant for over 35 years, Donald Russell supplies Michelin-starred restaurants, many of the world’s luxury hotels, and deliver their award-winning food directly to thousands of homes across the UK.

2016

Cottage Delight: Great Teaste, Great Times

Company created in 1974, Cottage Delight originally produced handmade butter fudge. Its range Has since grown to include jams, marmalades, curds, chutneys, table sauces and many more delectable delights.

Albion Fine Foods: Supplying Chefs in the UK

Albion Fine Foods is created to supply premium ingredients - dairy, frozen, dry goods, and some quirky specialist items - to UK chefs across London and in the South East.

2000

A New Business Model

By 2000, the vertically integrated model by which the food business had previously operated had been broken up, leading to farming, cold storage, and food import and distribution operating as stand-alone companies.

Vestey Foods

All food commodities import and export companies are renamed Vestey Foods.

1897

The beginnings

The foundations of Vestey Holdings date back to the 1890s when brothers William and Edmund Vestey established the Union Cold Storage Company in Liverpool being among the first to exploit the potential of refrigeration.

New Century

Egg Processing in China

The business expanded into China, establishing a vast egg processing enterprise from six dedicated facilities on the eastern seaboard.

1910s

Refrigerated Transporation: the Blue Star Line

In the early's 1910s The Blue Star Line, a fleet of refrigerated vessels, was created. It supplied the bakery trades in the UK, USA, Europe and South Africa for over fifty years and became one of the most iconic shipping lines in history.

1911

Expansion into Meat Works and Farming

From 1911, the Vestey brothers expanded their services into meat production, processing and distribution, with pastoral land and meatworks in Venezuela, Australia, Brazil, New Zealand and Argentina.

1923

UK Expansion into Retail

From the early 1910s, the business also expanded into retail with the acquistion market stalls on the Smithfield Market and butcher shops throughout the UK with around 3,000 Dewhurst outlets by 1923.
